I think everyone will agree with me when I say that UK Supermarkets have upped their game this year when it comes to Free From Christmas products, and Asda are most definitely no exception. Christmas can be a difficult time of the year when you have allergies and intolerances, however with all of the amazing new Free From products that Asda are offering, you do not have to miss out! When it comes to Free From products, Asda are right up there with the best, stocking over 630 products in its entire frozen, chilled, bakery and ambient sections. Can we just think back to 5 years ago when you would be lucky to find a simple loaf of gluten free bread in most supermarkets, it’s fantastic how far we have come!
Asda also have a range of ‘Extra Special’ Free From alternatives, which most definitely do not compromise on taste, and offer luxury alternative versions of classic Christmas products, allowing everyone to enjoy their favourite dishes this festive season without having to spend a fortune. From yule logs, to cookies, mince pies, chocolate cake, christmas pudding, stuffing and pigs in blankets. You do not have to miss out this Christmas just because you have allergies or intolerances! Here are some of Asda’s Christmas products that I have been loving so far.
Asda’s Extra Special Free From Luxury Yule Log
This luxury Free From Yule log retails for only £4.50 which is fantastic for such a delicious product. As well as being gluten free, the Yule log is also dairy free meaning people like me, who are both gluten and dairy free, can enjoy the amazing taste. As the product looked and tasted incredible, I decided to do a test and picked up a non Free From version for my Non coeliac family to compare. Without showing them the packaging, I gave them a piece of the normal Yule log and the Free From Yule log and although they were able to identify which was which, they were amazed at how delicious the Free From version tasted and expressed how far the Free From world has come recently!
Asda’s Extra Special Free From Dark Chocolate Orange Cookies
Another ‘Extra Special’ gluten free product retailing in Asda this year for just £1.80 are these dark chocolate and orange cookies, combining these amazing christmassy flavours. Unfortunately, these cookies contain milk so I was unable to try them, but if you are just gluten free, you are definitely on to a winner! These cookies went down great with the family and were demolished within minutes.
Asda’s Free From Truffle Collection
Since finding out I was intolerant to milk, chocolate is the food I have missed the most and I have never been able to find a dairy free alternative that lives up to my chocolate memories, until I tried these truffles. The truffle collection comes in a beautiful box and includes strawberry, salted caramel, dark chocolate orange and vanilla flavours, all individually wrapped. The box retails for £4.50 and in my opinion is definitely worth it! Whilst my family indulge in boxes of chocolates over Christmas, I will finally be able to join in!
Asda’s Free From Roddy the Reindeer Cake
Thinking back to 5 years ago, would you have ever of thought that you would be able to buy a gluten and dairy free chocolate reindeer cake?! Retailing for just £6, I spotted this on the shelf in Asda and had to buy one! This is the perfect pudding or treat around Christmas time which would be ideal for children who aren’t a fan of the usual Christmas pudding or Christmas cake desserts.

Asda have made things a little easier this year in the form of gravy granules and stuffing mixes which are both gluten and dairy free and the perfect accompainment for your Christmas dinner.
