One of the things I love most about the ‘gluten free blogging and Instagram world’, are the amazing small freefrom businesses that I come across along the way, that I would have never known about otherwise. I met the owner of Purebakes at the Bristol Freefrom event last month and was very kindly sent a sample box to try. Purebakes are delicious and nutritious and can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or a healthy evening treat. They also only contain a handful of ingredients meaning they can be enjoyed by Coeliacs, Vegans, Diabetics and anyone that’s after a wholesome and healthy treat.
Purebakes come in 3 different varieties; rice, quinoa and oats (gluten free oats of course!), all of which have 4 different flavours which I have listed below:
Top tip: Pop your Purebake in the microwave for 20 seconds before eating as they turn into an indulgent and gooey treat!
The great thing about Purebakes are their versatility, as they can be used in so many different ways! Here are some of the ways in which I have used them:
An ‘all the toppings’ version: A quinoa, date, coconut and cacao purebake with peanut butter and jam and a whole oat and dark chocolate purebake with dairy free chocolate spread, both topped with bananas, sultanas, cacao nibs, pumpkin seeds, a sprinkle of cinnamon and frozen raspberries! The most delicious breakfast treat.
A ‘pretty’ version! A rice and dark chocolate purebake with dairy free chocolate spread and a rice and plum purebake with peanut butter and jam. Both topped with figs, pumpkin seeds and cacao nibs.
A super simple version: A whole oat and plum purebake topped with jam and figs. The perfect simple mid afternoon treat!
A savoury version! 2 rice and mixed seed purebakes topped with dairy free cheese, scrambled eggs and ham. The ideal quick, easy and filling lunch.
