July Favourites! (Gluten and milk free)

I have decided to start doing a new series of blog posts (on the 1st of every month) to let you all know my favourite gluten and milk free products/food/restaurants etc that I have tried the previous month! (And to hopefully give you some gluten and milk free inspiration). I really hope you enjoy this new series – If you have any of your own favourites for the month, do let me know in the comments as I love to try new things! July’s favourites contain a lot of new products that I picked up at the Allergy and Free from show. If you want to read about what else I picked up there please follow the below link:

The Allergy and Freefrom Show

Before I start this is just a warning that the majority of food in this favourites are sweet products – I have a huge sweet tooth! ūüôā

Pip and Nut limited edition – chocolate, coconut and hazelnut butter

A recent purchase that I made at Wholefoods was this absolutely gorgeous chocolate, coconut and hazelnut butter by Pip and Nut. I have only recently started buying Pip and Nut products but have definitely been converted! This spread contains absolutely no palm oil and only has 5 ingredients – hazelnuts, coconut, cacao paste, agave nectar and sea salt. I love spreading this on my gluten free crumpets as a delicious breakfast or snack and it’s also great on top of porridge or granola!

Vego bars

Keeping on the chocolate theme.. (can you tell I’m a huge chocoholic!?) these Vego bars are a new obsession of mine! Chocolate is one of the main things I miss about not being able to eat any products with milk in and in my personal opinion – dark chocolate just doesn’t taste the same! These Vego bars are completely gluten free, dairy free and vegan and are the best milk free chocolate product I have tried so far! They contain chunks of hazelnuts and are delicious! I buy my bars at Wholefoods, Holland and Barrett or Revital Health food store.

Natures Path nice and nobbly granola

I feel like I talk about this granola a lot! – It’s over on my Gluten and milk free breakfast ideas¬†post and is my favourite granola that I have tried to date. This flavour is gluten and dairy free and is filled with pumpkin seeds, almonds, raisins and cinnamon. I tend to find that a lot of gluten free granolas can taste pretty bland but this one is the complete opposite! It’s chunky and delicious and works great with a dairy free yoghurt, on top of porridge or just on its own with some dairy free milk. You can buy this granola in the majority of UK supermarkets, I usually pick it up from Asda or Tesco.

Hippeas РOrganic chickpea puffs

I’m such a snackaholic and love finding new and healthier alternatives to crisps. I picked these up to try as they were reduced in my local Holland and Barrett store and have been converted! My favourite’s are the sweet and smoking or the cheesy flavour – They taste just like what I remember Watsits to taste like! They are also high in fibre, high in protein and only 91 calories. The perfect mid afternoon snack to keep you going throughout the day!

Alpro Go

One of my latest obsessions is the New Alpro Go dairy free Soya yoghurt. It is basically just a dairy free version of a thick greek yoghurt, high in protein and low in sugars. I find myself reaching for this for both breakfast and puddings and is perfect topped with fruit, honey and granola. You can also buy small versions of this with a fruit compote which are also delicious – My favourite is the strawberry and raspberry flavour.

Rule of Crumb eclairs

You would not believe how excited I was when I found these in the freezer section of Sainsbury’s a few weeks ago. They are gluten and dairy free which I never thought would be possible! Let’s just say that these took me all of about 5 seconds to finish them. An absolute must try pudding if you are able to get your hands on them!

Freaks of Nature puddings

One of the brands that I met at the Allergy and Freefrom show were ‘Freaks of Nature’ who very kindly gave me 3 of their puddings to try! They are dairy free, gluten free, egg free and soya free and taste amazing! My favourite flavour is the Cocoa Loco (because I love chocolate as you probably can already tell). I picked up some more in Tesco recently which happened to be on offer which was perfect!

Newburn bakehouse tiger loaf

A new product that I HAVE to mention in my favourites is this Newburn Bakehouse Tiger Artisan Bloomer. I was very kindly given a loaf at the allergy and freefrom show and it is the best gluten free bread that I have tried to date! Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside – If you are struggling to find a gluten free bread that you like then I would give this one a go. You can pick them up in both Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.

Livia’s Kitchen Biccy Boms¬†

My new favourite snack to have at the moment are these Livia’s Kitchen Biccy Boms which I picked up at the allergy and freefrom show and also in Wholefoods. I love all of the flavours – They have a chocolate flavour, salted maca caramel and ginger and they honestly taste like you are eating an unhealthy indulgent treat, when they actually only contain natural simple ingredients. My only issue with these are that you can only buy them in certain stores – Please can they start selling them in more UK supermarkets :)?

Kind bars

To finish off I can’t forget Kind snack bars! – I have become obsessed with these recently and pick them up all the time for a delicious snack! They are gluten free, dairy free and contain 60% nuts! My favourite flavour is the dark chocolate, nuts and sea salt but I honestly love all of the flavours as well! You can see my Kind bars review by clicking on the below link.
