If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I am a huge snackaholic and am constantly on the look out for new gluten and milk free snack bars to fill the gap between breakfast and lunch, lunch and dinner and those hungry evenings! I have tried so many snack bars and below are all of my favourites which I have decided to give away to one of my Instagram followers! – Follow me on instagram @glutenfreealice for more details!
Important note: All of the below snack bars are gluten free and also do not contain any milk based ingredients HOWEVER a few of the bars do state that they ‘MAY contain milk’ or they are ‘Made in a factory that also handles milk products’. All of this information will be listed below.
Possibly my favourite snack bar (of all time!), Kind bars are made with up to 60% nuts. They are gluten free, dairy free high in fibre, contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives! If you would like to read a review of Kind bars please follow the link below. The 2 flavours that I am giving away are my absolute favourites – ‘Dark chocolate, nuts and sea salt’ and ‘Peanut butter and dark chocolate’.
A snack bar that I have only recently tried; Perkier bars are a natural source of fibre, omega 3, protein and are wheat, gluten and dairy free as well as 100% vegan. The 2 flavours I am giving away are the ‘Cashew, chia and pumpkin seed’ and the ‘Cacao and Cashew’. I was introduced to these bars when they had a ‘3 for 2’ deal in Wholefoods and I now can’t get enough! Pulsin bars are a raw chocolate brownie made using cacao, fruit and nuts. They are gluten free, dairy free, soya free and vegan and come in a variety of different flavours. The flavour that I am giving away is ‘Almond and Raisin’. Other flavours I love are the Vanilla Choc Chip protein booster and the Peanut choc chip.
By far the cheapest of all the snack bars in this haul, Hike bars can be brought in Aldi for only 49p! Hike bars are high in protein, gluten free, and high in fibre! – A perfect post gym snack to keep you going throughout the day. Please note that Hike bars contain Soya protein and gluten free oats. The allergy advice also states that they ‘May contain’ milk. Hike bars come in 3 different flavours – Cacao, Banana and berry. The flavour that I am giving away is by far my favourite which is ‘Cacao’.
Natures Path granola bars
Nature’s Path were one of the companies I met at the Allergy and Freefrom show a couple of weeks ago. They sell a huge range of gluten free cereals, granolas and breakfast bar – see below for a full review of their products. Their trail mix granola bar is packed full of nuts and dried fruit and is gluten and wheat free. Please note that the allergy advice states that they ‘May contain’ traces of soy and dairy.
Nairn gluten free breakfast biscuits
One of my favourite mid morning snacks to have whilst at work are the Nairn gluten free breakfast biscuits, which I have sadly been informed will be discontinued soon :(! These bars are a perfect snack which are gluten free, suitable for vegans, a source of Iron and zinc as well as containing no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The flavour I am giving away is the ‘Oats and Apricot’ flavour which is by far my favourite. Please note: The allergy advice states that the product is ‘Manufactured on equipment that handles milk’.
Eat Natural bars
I have only recently been introduced to these by one of my friends but they are delicious! My favourite flavour is the one I am giving away – ‘Peanuts and chocolate’. This bar contains 10g of protein so is perfect for a pre or post gym snack! Please note that although the bars to not contain any milk based products the allergy advice states that they ‘May also contain cows milk’.
I have been eating Nakd bars for so many years! – They have so many different flavours and I think probably everyone reading this will have heard of them! They are Gluten free, wheat free and dairy free (Be careful with some of the flavours though as some do contain gluten!) and are raw fruit and nut bars made using only a handful of raw ingredients! I am giving away my 3 favourite flavours which are the Gingerbread, lemon drizzle and cocoa orange.
Deliciously Ella energy balls are free from gluten, dairy, refined sugar and are vegan friendly! The balls only contain a handful of simple ingredients and my favourite flavour is the Cacao and Almond one which only contains dates, almonds, cacao, almond butter, coconut oil and a pinch of salt! – Its’ amazing how only a few ingredients can produce something so tasty! A perfect snack to keep you going throughout the day.
I really hope that my favourite snack bars have given you some snack inspiration! – If you would like to try the bars then please check out my Instagram for give away details.
