My gluten and dairy free waffles are made with just a handful of ingredients, and are a super tasty breakfast option served with fresh fruit and yoghurt or as a dessert option, served with ice cream and chocolate! For this recipe I used my Andrew James waffle maker, but any waffle maker would work! If you make this recipe I’d love to see, don’t forget to tag me in your photos over on social media!
30mlvegetable oil (plus extra for greasing the waffle maker - you could also use any other cooking oil alternative)
125ggluten free self raising flour
1teaspoonbaking powder
3tablespoonssugar
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Pre heat your waffle maker and grease with oil.
To a large bowl add the dairy free milk, egg and vegetable oil. Beat well and then add the self-raising flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Mix until combined.
Pour the mixture into the pre heated waffle maker, ensuring not to overfill, and cook for around 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm with toppings of your choice.
I absolutely love seeing what you’ve created, so if you do make this recipe (or any other recipe from my website) don’t forget to tag me over on my social media pages @glutenfreealice and use the hashtag #glutenfreealice
What gluten free self rising flour brand do you use? And do you think maple syrup could be used in place of the sugar and if so would it be in the same amounts? Thank you so so much! I love your recipes!!
Hi Mary, Thanks so much! I use the FREEE gluten free self raising flour. I think for this particular recipe the maple syrup would work using the same amounts. Let me know how you get on!
I recently switched to a gluten free lifestyle and was looking for ideas for my toddler too. This recipe is so good, nice and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, the whole family loves it! I also tried it with grated zucchini and cheese, or shredded coconut, all turned out so good, highly recommend!
